LifeScan, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Professional Sales Specialist, located in Long Island , NY.
LifeScan, Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes by developing, manufacturing and marketing a wide range of glucose monitoring systems and software for use by people with diabetes and by health care providers. The ONETOUCH® Brand of consumer and institutional products includes portable electronic meters and disposable reagent test strips to provide accurate, less painful glucose readings and the software tools to transform this information into actionable health care decisions.
LifeScan's business model is very similar to the pharmaceutical model. Our goal is to provide value to the healthcare professional by providing clinical insight, to demonstrate the superior features and benefits of their products as compared to the competition, and to gain the healthcare professional's commitment to recommend and prescribe LifeScan products.
The Professional Sales Specialists call on both specialists (Endocrinologists/Diabetes Educators) and primary care physicians. Additionally, the role of the Professional Sales Specialist is to establish and maintain productive working relationships with all key Healthcare Professionals, make appropriate calls as outlined by the sales direction, attend meetings and conferences (including National sales meetings, product launch meetings and trade association meetings), support local ADA and AADE chapters, and attend product fairs/diabetes conferences. Establish and maintain an effective distribution network to expand LifeScan business. This is not a complete list of essential functions/major responsibilities.
Qualifications
Requires BA/BS degree. Minimum 2 years of outside business-to-business sales experience. Preferably, 3-5 years of sales experience in a healthcare professional sales environment or experience in professional diabetes care or related healthcare fields. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record, the ability to travel as necessary or required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel; and, excellent written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates living within 30 miles of the territory, with documented history of proven sales success in outside sales, pharmaceutical, or medical products industry.
